Only planned and trained users will have access to the microscope rooms (F-1.19, F-1.59 and G-1.140a).
For reservations please send e-mail to
zbmikuam@gmail.com with name, department, room, date and hours. If you plan to use the incubation system (okolab) - indicate this in your booking request. The reservation is possible up to a month in advance (15th December to 15th January and so on). Please note that student classes may be scheduled at any time and take priority.
Please plan your working time wisely.
If your plans have changed - please let us know ASAP!
Someone else can use the microscope!
All available microscopes are in open access mode and can be operated directly by a user after appropriate training. Each training is carried out individually. Depending on the system and user skills, training can take up to 2 - 6 hours. After the initial training, the first work should be carried out under the supervision of an employee experienced in working with the given system. Access to the microscope systems rooms is granted after the training is completed. If a user didn't use system in the last 12 months refreshing training is required.
Quota for confocal systems reservations
(Nikon A1Rsi + PicoQuant or Leica Stellaris 8 [F-1.19])
A working day is split into standard working hours (7:00-18:00) and outside hours (before 7:00 and after 18:00). During standard working hours, each user can reserve max. 4 hours slot. During outside hours there are no limitations and hours reserved in this period are not counted in the quota. Quota system is valid from Monday to Friday, except national holidays. During weekends and holidays there is no quota for reservations.
Important information - there is a minimum reservation (work) time for a given system: for Leica min. 1h, for Nikon min. 2h (longer time required to turn on and warm up lasers before work).
Example: User needs 5 hours slot on a confocal microscope. So user can reserve from 6:00 until 11:00, or from 14:00 until 19:00. User use 4 hours slot during standard working hours and 1 hour from outside hours.
In cases where the user really needs more than 4 hours during standard working hours (e.g. – using CO2 incubator chamber, long-term continuous data acquisition of physiological time events), it is possible to book for the whole day or longer - please consult with Bioimaging Unit staff first (AK-M / WK).
This quota system is valid only for confocal systems. Other instruments can be reserved without any restrictions.
